"Seikido is a tremendous martial art for developing one's self-defence abilities, positively challenging the practitioner both physically and mentally. Thousands of students have benefitted from the teachings of Seikido and, after three decades of reputable business, the club has become a pillar of the community."

“As a physiotherapist I'm picky about where my kids do sports. After seeing Sensei Wayne's approach I couldn't be happier. There's mat work, learning how to roll out of falls, how to stand, and where to transfer your body weight, as well as group games that look like tons of fun. He encourages the kids that it's not about getting a belt every grading, it's about quality of movement and practice. Amazing sense of mentorship, community, and care here. Great place for kids to grow.”

"An exemplary school of self defense. Seikido is a highly effective system for personal development, especially in regards to self discipline, courage, and focus, delivered by passionate instructors in an efficient format."

“From the first class I took twenty seven years ago I was hooked. I had taken other martial arts classes before, but Seikido is the most comprehensive and engaging style I've seen. Which is why my sons and I continue to train in Seikido to this day. The professionalism and depth of knowledge of the instructors is amazing. From white belt to black belt, training in the dojo has always been a rewarding experience that keeps you coming back for more. This is a style that has something for everyone and can be practiced for life. While it teaches real life self defense skills combined with traditional martial arts training geared for today's world, it is done in a professional and family oriented environment.”

"An exceptional environment for learning, in every sense of the word. The skills and lessons learned here extend far beyond the dojo in application and have been essential to my growth as a person. Honoured to be a part of this family saturated with good people."
- James Z
“Joining Seikido has been one of the best decisions I've made. It's fun, athletic, and practical. Seikido is a well rounded martial arts style that teaches striking, rolls and break falls, take downs, self-defense, and joint articulations. Sensei Wayne and Doshu plan classes so that you're always perfecting the basics while learning new skills. Best of all, this is a family club and the community is the most supportive I've come across in my time in martial arts. From the beginners to the black belts, everyone is so welcoming and kind. Whatever your goals are this club will help you achieve them.”

"Seikido has been fantastic for my son and he has grown in confidence, skill and strength under the tutelage of his fantastic Sensei Wayne Li and the incredible staff at this dojo. If you're looking for a martial arts dojo that not only teaches skills in the martial arts and discipline, but also cares for you like family, this is the dojo for you."

"My husband and I first enrolled our children in Seikido about two years ago because it was important to us that they knew how to protect themselves. My husband had been a part of Seikido through out his growing years so we already knew there was only one place we would consider in the Lower Mainland. After seeing how much fun our kids were having, we started training very soon after. I can say without question that this is the largest representation of kind, caring and humble people that I have ever met in one place. Although belt colour varies with experience, what you will notice is that everyone is the same in that they are all just good people trying their best to improve themselves in and out of the dojo. Seikido is an authentic martial arts school with a long respectable lineage and I am consistently in awe of the knowledge that is shared with us. Seikido prepares you to be able to defend yourself in any type of scenario and equips you with only the most practical tools and abilities. I can not say enough good things about this school or how important I think it is for every person to know how to defend themselves. For my family and I, it has given us a common passion that we can share together in and out of class. All the greatest martial artists in the world owe their skills to great teachers. To quote Sir Isaac Newton: "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."

"My daughter LOVES seikido. I think a large part of it is the wonderful staff at the dojo and how connected she feels to both them and the other students. As parents, we appreciate the discipline she is acquiring and how physical the lessons are. Highly recommended."
- Jody W
"My wife and I have been enrolled since earlier this year and it has been an all round amazing experience. The training/education has been a pleasure from beginning to end and we couldn't have asked for a group of more generous, kind or talented people than we were lucky enough to meet at Seikido. Couldn't be happier!"

"Seikido is an amazing martial arts school where all students can learn not only practical self defense skills, but also traits such as discipline, hard work, dedication, and compassion. Throughout my years in the school as a kid and young adult I have learned so much about both martial arts and myself. It is great for instilling confidence in anyone and the owners and teachers make a very welcoming environment for all students, new and old. If you are interested in learning martial arts I would definitely recommend trying some classes out here!"

"I have been with the dojo for several years, and my experience there has far exceeded my expectations in every way. I have studied many martial arts from many teachers, and I can say unequivocally that Doshu Paul and Sensei Wayne are the best I've met. They, and the many students who have trained under the Li's -many of them for decades- are not only incredibly talented martial artists, with years of practical experience in every form of combat, but also an unlimited source of wisdom, compassion, and love. This is more than a school; it is a family."

"My wife and loved the great training from ages 50 to nearly 60. Practical skills for self defense. Pushing 70 now and maintain the exercises and some of the techniques."
- James H
"Doshu Paul Li and Sensei Wayne Li have set the standard of working hard, having fun, and improving yourself. Along with their other instructors, they provide an excellent mix of disciplines that are applicable in a multitude of situations and will meet anyone's fitness goals. I have made good friends during my time at the club and have reached a level of fitness that I never thought possible for my age. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the club."

"Seikido is more than just a martial arts club, it's a family. In class, we are expected to bring our whole selves to our training. The instruction is superb, and the focus on technique and discipline is true to the martial way. While Seikido taught me the way of fighting, it is also very much a way of life. Integrity, honor, and determination - the lessons learned here go beyond the dojo, a foundation of discipline that I've brought to every aspect of my life, both personally and professionally."
- Vernon T
"My 2 sons have been attending classes here for 4-5 years now where they are gaining practical martial arts skills, and also learning valuable traits of discipline and respect for self and others. It is a very nurturing environment, where everyone is treated like a family member."
- Donna D
"Seikido is many things to many people but at its most essential, it is an excellent dojo where the teachers care deeply about training their students to be their best self. I was fortunate enough to be enrolled as a child, and have stayed with it as best I can throughout much of my life since. They instill a core of discipline, self-confidence and respect that few other places will offer. You'll get as much out of it as you put in, and to many, Seikido is an extended family that will welcome all with open arms. Whether you join as a kid, teenager, or adult, you'll find there are options no matter where you are in life. Classes are varied and frequent and taught by very experienced people. If you are at all interested in learning martial arts, you won't do better than Seikido in the Vancouver area."
"Martial arts as it should be. I was leery starting a martial arts program, as I had never done anything of the sort before. I didn't want to join a club where I would be forced to fight and that used brutality as a teaching method. Seikido is none of that. The environment is so welcoming, both students and teachers are respectful, and not intimidating. This is a place where you come to learn practical life skills as well as offering a chance to increase physical and mental health. The teachers are knowledgeable, patient, helpful, and understand that the learning process is different for each student. The gym is always immaculate; the equipment, modern. As an adult learner, coming to Seikido was the best decision I've made."
- Katelyn V.H.
"This is much more than just a wonderful dojo, but really a family. The instructors go beyond teaching self-defense, and provide students with the interpersonal and leadership skills to be successful both personally and professionally."
- Gautam G
“Since becoming a member earlier this year, I feel at least 10 years younger! Huge improvements to core strength and agility, and techniques which easily become instinct, make this the most practical and responsible way to teach self defense, and self improvement, that I've ever seen!”
- Gregory H
"I cannot say enough about this dojo. We are thankful everyday we found this kind and caring place for our son to train. It has helped my son's confidence, his ability to advocate for himself, and to be able to defend himself in situations that may have otherwise gotten very ugly. Thank you Sensei Wayne."
