The Seikido Martial Arts Federation of Canada was established in 1980 to provide instruction in the philosophy and training of the Seikido system.
Seikido is a complete and unique style of Martial Arts. It blends the best techniques and principles of hard and soft martial arts. It is a practical form of self-defence which emphasizes yielding to force and countering with effective and efficient movements.
Sei Ki Do 正 氣 道 translates to “The Righteous Way.”
As any person is capable of growing in any direction, Seikido training aims to nurture its students to live with a sense of dignity, justice, sincerity, and courage.
These righteous and integral principles are necessary in creating strong leaders with great character and way of thinking.
Seikido is not meant to be a competitive sport, but instead a way to prepare students for real-life situations while improving both physical and mental well-being.
Why Study Seikido?
Seikido is a journey along a personal path. Through practicing the physical aspects, one gains skill and confidence. Through studying the philosophy, one improves character. The focus of Seikido training is on personal growth. The purpose of its techniques are to protect oneself and loved ones. Diligent training increases self-confidence, positive attitude, and inner and outer strength. Our method of instruction stresses discipline through respect.
The practice of Seikido demands its students to understand the importance and joy of cooperating and working with others. Students are taught that cooperating with others is instrumental to success in all aspects of their lives.
The Seikido Martial Arts Federation of Canada is one of the Lower Mainlands most established Martial Arts schools. Since our inception in 1980, we continue to stay true to our philosophy while exemplifying excellence in a true Martial Arts education.
